People sometimes think that volunteering is only something you do in high school, and doing community service is pointless. What do you think?

For me personally, I love to volunteer because the enjoyment of helping others. Right now I currently volunteer for the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. Is volunteering really something people should take time to do or is is better to only do it when you are in high school? Do you volunteer, if so for who?
