Synthwave Production Competition: Sweatwave

Its high time for another producers contest, its been over a year since we last had the dreamwave competition.

This editions theme will be Sweatwave. It was moderately popular among producers years ago, but unfortunately productivity in this healthy niche of synthwave has since died a bit. We want to return to the glory days of sweatwave (though it never was much), thus we decided this would be the perfect theme.

You might ask yourself, "What the fuck is sweatwave?"

Sweatwave is synthwave music heavily inspired by 80's workout video's. Upbeat songs that often feature workout instructions and want you to get your ass up off the couch and moving .

Some prime examples are:

Tape Loader - Work that Body

Muscle - The Pump

Luke Million - Arnold

Robert Parker - Hardbody

Powerglove - Maximum Potential

SilverHawk - Pumping Iron

I hope you get the idea. I have a longer setlist available for some Sweatwave sessions on Nightride FM, listen in when I'm live for a little case study ;)

The deadline for this contest will be March 31st 11:59 UTC.

You can submit your tracks to this Google form.

Original and currently unreleased tracks only.

Only one entry per participant. Collaborations are fine, but you can't submit a solo track and a collab.

The submissions are likely to be judged by a team consisting of r/outrun mods, NightrideFM staff and possibly some outside talent. The judging panel has not been finalized yet.

Submissions are judged on creativity, composition, sound design and overall sweatwaveyness.

Its a contest, so we have to have some prizes. We can offer fame and glory through this subreddit and with some extra airtime on the NRFM radio. Perhaps an interview by DJ Dennis G. A cool flair on this subreddit and on the /r/nightridefm subreddit. A custom rank on the "Outrun and Synth Production" and "Nightride FM" discord servers.

I'm looking into additional prizes as well, but nothing I can confirm just yet.

Good luck and have fun!

If you got any questions, feel free to leave them in this thread.
