What's happened to VHS Dreams?

I've not been able to reach out to George but there is something weird I have noticed, which was also mentioned in another thread somewhere I think?

A little while ago I noticed that some of his tracks started disappearing from Spotify, mainly from the Trans AM album. I also noticed that the VHS Dreams EP was removed as well. The tracks that went missing were ones that were worked on collaboratively with other artists, such as Satori in Bed and Alpharisc.

This removal then spread to all streaming platforms - Apple, Deezer, etc. Just - gone. The original album - released by Future 80's - was removed and replaced with a 7 track version of the same album - this time "VHS Dreams Foundation". Some people then reported some of the tracks sounding "altered" (different beat, etc). I can confirm that Miami 2k15 has an altered beat, and R.E.D.M and Nightdrive also sound different in equalisation.

I posted on the VHSDreamsOfficial Facebook page, just to make him aware that it disappeared, but got no response. Now, it seems that the Facebook and Twitter accounts have been completely deleted.

Could this be something more sinister going on, like a lawsuit or something? Was just really strange how it all just disappeared followed by the pulling of social media accounts!

Someone explain me what outrun actually is based on?

I only know the racing game by Sega called outrun, but it seems Outrun is also associated with Neon cyberpunk theme and there are some games paying homage to outrun but with the neon theme. Which one came first? Outrun theme or the game? I believe Outrun also has certain music style like daft punk style synth pop like Physical.

I shot this short movie about the quarantine for a school project. Everything was shot by myself in a day and the editing took me almost three days. The first 30 seconds are in french but the rest is understandable by everybody. I hope you like it.

New to the craft - Help and Critique Needed!

As the title suggest, I'm new to creating/composing Snythwave but actually, creating music in general as well. I've background in classical piano, but that's pretty much it. Decided to take this on as I'm working on a videogame and I want to be able to score it myself.

The goal is to produce decent 80s/futuristic/retro sound. Plus, my heart was always aching as I wanted to dig into it and start making awesome Synthwave music, loved this genre for years, even before it moved into mainstream. I really don't know why it took me so long. Feels a bit cathartic now even though I know what I'm making sucks. But I don't plan on giving up easily. For the reference, I've only spent a week in FLStudio and my head is already spinning, probably one of the hardest things I've tackled in life... I though getting a degree in computer science was tough, I was wrong. Programming has nothing on this.

I feel that I'm struggling with several things:

- mastering- is something too loud or not- how much hollow/eerie is too much?- how do you move on? - Perfect is the enemy of good.

If anyone could share some tips and feedback based on the example I've attached that would be awesome.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the song is not complete yet, struggling to move from the first part and constantly trying to change things/make better :O

Help! Can't remember name of outrun-style driving game

So I'm trying to remember the name of an amazing looking game I saw on reddit a while back. It was similar in aesthetic to Neon Drive but with more free-flowing driving like Cyber Outrun or Power Drive 2000 (rip), the biggest difference being that there were these crazy jumps and it felt super smooth and fast.

Please don't tell me it was all just a nice dream...

What do you consider to be Dreamwave?

I've always called artists like Electric Youth, FM-84, Gunship, The Midnight Dreamwave, but nowadays when what comes out when I search for "dreamwave" is vaporwave. I mean, I like Dreamwave too, but they're two completely different subgenres

Is my concept of Dreamwave wrong or are the other people confusing these 2 things?

Looking for recommendations...

So I've recently dipped my toes into synthwave and artists like Dance With The Dead, Vulta and We Are Magonia are tickling my ears - I'm wondering if any of you can recommend bands or songs that are longer and progressive - songs that move from atmospheric, subtle intros to tension filled moments, ending with crescendos of pulse pumping heaviness - things like that.

Serious question. Does it bother anyone else that a lot of producers on sites like Instagram just repost other people’s artwork?

Many producers in the synth-retro-whateverwave genres just repost other people’s artwork on their pages, with the credit often getting buried in hashtags or a end of a comment. Posts like these show in my Instagram explore page all of the time.

What bothers me about this is that they are just using other peoples work to get eyes (or ears in this case) on their music, which generates money in most cases. So basically free content for self-promotion.

I’m a visual artist myself, and of people are reposting my artwork to promote their music I would be pretty upset.

I get the idea of setting a mood board to help with the aesthetics and all that, but something about it all just feels off to me. Does anyone else feel this way?

Surround Sound Music?

I've recently gotten into 5.1/DTS/multi-channel/Surround Sound music for my hometheater system, and I've done some googling but I don't see any of Synthwave music in that format.

I was hoping at the very least to find the Drive soundtrack, but it doesn't look like it was released that way.

Does anybody know of any 80's radio recorded streams, podcasts, YouTube or anything

Don't know where to ask on Reddit but here: Does anyone know of any commercial radio streams from the 80's? Surely people must have recorded music and DJ broadcasts back then and uploaded them to the internet? I would love to put those on a USB stick and listen to them while driving. I've got plenty of Spotify streams of Outrun, Synthwave and Synthpop but I'm missing the DJ and commercials elements.

Seeking ideas and inspiration for painting my (virtual) racecar

I compete in sim racing and have started a new series that is streamed on YouTube which means there are copyright issues for my usual liveries so I need to create a new one.

I'd like to go with the Outrun aesthetic but am really having trouble coming up with a design due to the shape of the car. It's a Formula Skip Barber which has the open-wheel racecar shape and looks like this with the paintable area including all except the wings. Most go for replica things but I'm more into something like this.

I think the sportscars are easier to do with the larger surface area - throw a sunset on the bonnet and/or converging grid lines on the roof for example, but I can't think of how to do something cool on this. A sunset behind the front number? A grid horizon all around the sides?

Can anyone suggest something?

Searching for a music.

Hello guys! First of all i want to say sorry for my english. So I heard a song about 3-5 years ago. I don't remember the name of it, and I don't remember the name of the artist(s). Only I know is the video clip. So the camera was went trough some rooms with different things in it. Not rooms. More like hangars(?) I don't remember all of the rooms but i think in one there was a spaceship, in the next one there was a nude woman, in the next one there was a statute, and the last room that i remember there was some luxory car maybe bentley with 2 high end woman in it. I don't listen so much outrun music but the sound design was like the songs in hotline miami or Mr. Oizo the church. I searching this song for months because it stucked in my head and i used to listen it a lot in those times. I welcome any tip or idea. Thank you!!!
