Hey! I'm doing some research for a papper and I'm having some trouble at finding a "historical" link between outrun/synthwave and vaporwave. I mean, musically it"s very clear that they are different, but visually it's hard to tell. Why are they so similar? Is vaporwave inspired by outrun? I'm more interested in knowing the origins of the visuals. I couldn't find any studies about synthwave tho, if anyone knows a text or a book that I can rely on, it would be really helpful!
